Box Office

  • When is the box office open?Expand answer

    The box office is open Monday-Friday from 9am-4pm. Tickets may be purchased over the phone or in person for most shows.

    On show days, the box office will open 2 hours before doors.

  • Do I need to purchase a ticket for my child?Expand answer

    For most shows, all patrons must have a ticket, regardless of age. For shows such as Sesame Street Live, children who have not yet turned one do not need a ticket for entrance. Please call the MHCC box office for the promoter’s policy on a specific show.

  • How can I be sure that the tickets I have purchased are authentic?Expand answer

    We sell tickets here at the MHCC box office and through Ticketmaster outlets, charge-by-phone and ticketmaster.com. The MJN – Majed J Neshiwat Convention Center cannot guarantee that tickets purchased from any other source, such as, “the guy down the street” or any other third party broker will be authentic. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do if your tickets are not valid tickets. The MJN – Majed J Neshiwat Convention Center does not work with other ticketing agents, except for those preapproved by the promoter (i.e. artists’ fan club.) Please avoid buying tickets through brokers or scalpers.

  • I won tickets from a radio station. What do I need to know?Expand answer

    The radio station you won the tickets from will tell you whether they will send you the tickets, if you will need to pick them up from the station, or if they will be left for you at will call. If you tickets are left at will call – The MHCC box office does not typically receive the list of winners until the day of the show. If you need to change the name of the person picking up the tickets, please contact the radio station directly. Once we have a list from a station, we cannot make any changes to it. You should contact the station well in advance of the show to see if they allow such changes to be made.

  • What does "will call" mean?Expand answer

    Will call is the MJN Center's box office. Tickets that are on guest lists, radio station winners, or orders placed through Ticketmaster, but not mailed, are available at the box office on the day of the show. Sometimes these tickets are available just before doors on the day of the show. Please be sure to tell the box office staff what list (radio, Ticketmaster, fan club, etc.) your tickets are on and be prepared with you confirmation number (Ticketmaster) and photo ID.

  • Do you offer discounted tickets for group sales?Expand answer

    Some events will offer discounts for group sales depending on the type of event. Please call the MHCC box office 845.454.5800 for information on a particular show.

Parking

  • Where do I park for an event?Expand answer

    The MJN Center does not own any parking.

    There is a City of Poughkeepsie Parking Garage located directly across the street which is available for event parking. The City typically charges a flat rate for special event parking that they determine.

General

  • What time does my show start or end?Expand answer

    We generally do not know in advance when a show will begin or end. Door times are generally 1 hour to 1 ½ hours prior to the event. The ending time varies by show; you should check with security or the box office on the way in for information. Trade shows generally do not open earlier than the posted event time.

  • How old do you have to be to enter the MJN - Majed J. Neshiwat Convention Center?Expand answer

    For most shows, patrons must be 16 years of age or older, unless accompanied by an adult.

  • How are those of legal drinking age identified?Expand answer

    Patrons who have provided a valid, U.S. approved form of ID will be braceleted. Alcohol will not be served to anyone who is not wearing the bracelet. Security personnel are also on the lookout for anyone who is in possession of an alcoholic drink and is not wearing the bracelet. The Civic Center staff reserves the right to deny alcohol to anyone that is intoxicated or poses a hazard to public safety.

  • I lost my cell phone / credit card / ID / wallet / backpack / jacket / etc. at MJN - Majed J. Neshiwat Convention Center? What do I do?Expand answer

    Many found items are turned in to the MHCC box office during and after a show. Although we will do whatever we can to find your lost item, please note that the MJN – Majed J Neshiwat Convention Center is not responsible for items left on the premises.

  • Will the show be cancelled for bad weather?Expand answer

    Please check the MJN – Majed J Neshiwat Convention Center website or call 845.454.5800 for updated information in the case of bad weather. If your event is canceled, and you bought your tickets through Ticketmaster online or via the phone, you will be refunded automatically. If you bought your tickets through a Ticketmaster outlet or the MJN – Majed J Neshiwat Convention Center box office, you will need to return to your original point of purchase to obtain a refund.

  • Is there an ATM machine?Expand answer

    For the convenience of our guests, an ATM is located in the McCann Ice Arena.

Prohibited Items

  • Are cameras or video cameras allowed?Expand answer

    MJN – Majed J Nesheiwat Convention Center’s Camera Policy varies per event and the MHCC does not usually find out until the day of the show whether or not cameras will be permitted. Please call the MHCC box office 845.454.5800 on the day of the show to find out the policy for a particular event. At some events, artists explicitly forbid fan photography. In these cases, cameras of any type may not be brought into the venue. At other events, artists allow fan photography, allowing fans to bring cameras into the venue. In these instances, only simple, point-and-shoot, non-professional cameras will be permitted. Event security reserves the right to deny camera use at any time before, during or after the event and to prohibit the use of any camera that is deemed by event security and/or the Artist to be unacceptable. Under no circumstances are fans permitted to use video recording devices at MJN – Majed J Nesheiwat Convention Center.

  • What items are not allowed to be brought in to the MJN - Majed J. Neshiwat Convention Center?Expand answer

    MJN – Majed J Nesheiwat Convention Center Management reserves the right to prohibit other items as deemed necessary. The following is a partial list of prohibited items that are not permitted inside the venue:
